Description: Lisp is best known for being the premiere language of the early AI effort in the 1960s.

Although Lisp is primarily available for Unix and Unix-like systems, there is a Windows port available. You can obtain CLISP by going to their main site, CLISP - an ANSI Common Lisp, choosing a line from "Sources and binaries for various platforms", and choosing the latest clisp-*-win32.zip file. As of May 30, that would be 2.33.1 . It includes both compiler and interpreter, a debugger, unlimited size data types, and more.

History: Lisp was created in 1958 by John McCarthy at MIT. It is the second-oldest programming language still used today.

Applications: Some Lisp applications are listed on this page
.

Lisp is also implemented in the Emacs editor.
an elisp (emacs lisp) web page is available here.
