Description: Prolog is a compiled language for constraint solving. An interactive interpreter version is also available from GNU Prolog.

In order to run Prolog on MS Windows, you need to install a Unix-like environment, such as Cygwin.

History: Prolog was created by Alain Colmerauer in 1972.

Applications: Prolog is used for AI research, and computational linguistics

A few versions exist, the GNU version needing the Cygwin environment to run in.
