Description: Ruby is a relatively new language out of Japan. Ruby, like Python, has built-in support for object-oriented programming. There are modules available for MySQL, PostGreSQL, GTK-Bindings, and others,

History: Ruby was developed by Yukihiro Matsumoto and released in 1995. Ruby's native environment is UNIX/Linux but there is a native Windows version. The latest stable version of Ruby is 1.8.4 .
It also runs using Cygwin, DJGPP, or Mingw environments.
